How do I get a duplicate title in Idaho?

Instructions on obtaining a duplicate Idaho (ID) title

Idaho utilizes electronic titles. If your title is electronic, you will need to obtain a physical copy prior to pickup.

If the vehicle was last titled in Idaho

  1. Download and fill out the Idaho Duplicate Title Application
  2. Submit the application
    1. In person at the Idaho Transportation Department
      1. Time frame: 3 weeks
      2. Cost to obtain: $14 + county fees (Rush Processing available for an additional $26)
    2. By mailing the application to the location listed on the application
      1. Time frame: 3 weeks
      2. Cost to obtain: $14 + county fees

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Idaho

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
