Louisiana utilizes electronic titles. If your title is electronic, you will need to obtain a physical copy prior to pickup.

If the vehicle was last titled in Louisiana

  1. Download and fill out the Louisiana Duplicate Title Application
  2. Submit the application
    1. In person at the Office of Motor Vehicles
      1. Time frame: 7-10 business days
      2. Cost to obtain: $68.50 + handling fees
    2. By mailing the application to:

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Louisiana

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
