What do I need to do with my plates?
Vehicle owners must remove the license plate(s) from their vehicle whenever the vehicle is sold or transferred. The plates must be turned into a registration office or transferred to a new vehicle before cancelling the insurance for the vehicle.
Is there anything else I need to do?
You may need to submit a Affidavit for Removal of Registered Vehicle from Vehicle Registration Files (MVR-46F)form to remove the vehicle from your name.
