If the vehicle was last titled in New Mexico

  1. Download and fill out the New Mexico Duplicate Title Application
  2. Submit the application
    1. In person at the Motor Vehicle Division
      1. Time frame: Same day
      2. Cost to obtain: $5
    2. By mailing the application to:
      Motor Vehicle Division
      Services Bureau
      PO Box 1028
      Santa Fe, NM 87504-1028
      1. Time frame: 2-3 weeks
      2. Cost to obtain: $5

If the vehicle was last titled outside of New Mexico

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
