If the vehicle was last titled in Ohio

Ohio utilizes electronic titles. If your title is electronic, you will need to obtain a physical copy prior to pickup.

  1. Download and fill out the Ohio Duplicate Title Application
  2. Submit the application
    1. In person at the County Clerk's Title Office
      1. Time frame: Same day
      2. Cost to obtain: $18-$23 (varies based on county)
    2. By mailing the application to the County Clerk's Title Office
      1. Time frame: 2 weeks

If the vehicle was last titled outside of Ohio

The registered titled owner(s) of the vehicle must apply for a duplicate title through the state in which the vehicle was last titled.
